Charitable affairs in lock down
17 April 2020
During the lock down period there have been a few charitable activities in the village to raise money for local community groups. There have been several plant sales, organised by Ravenstone Hall, which have raised essential monies for the local food bank in Coalville, which is run by the Trussell Trust. This is a national charity set up to prevent hunger and poverty.
The ladies at the Almshouses bought small 2 plum trees, which have been planted close to the other fruit trees growing in the gardens. This supports conservation activities at Ravenstone Court, by planting new trees, and has also helped another valuable and important local charity. Well done ladies!
